The service has received almost $70 million in funding from investors till date. It stated to the world that it received a sum of $3.5 million in total funding from its current investors, and from W Media Ventures, Golden Ventures Partners, and Union Square Ventures. In June 2012, it raised $17.3 million from a group of venture funds led by Khosla Ventures.

Wattpad announced $46 million in series funding led by OMERS ventures in April 2014.

By December 2011, Toronto-based Wattpad was picked as the hottest Digital Media Company in the country at the Canadian innovation Exchange. That same year, co-founder and CEO Ivan Yuen was also known as a top Canadian entrepreneur at the impact infused Awards, sponsored by Deloitte.
